JOYCE LYNN SMITH - MILTON - Joyce Lynn Smith, age 56, beloved wife of David M. Smith, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at their home in Milton. She was born on Nov, 18, 1954, in Baltimore, Md. She and David were married and moved to Vermont on Dec. 17, 1983. Her life touched many with her joy, humor and love of family, friends and animals. It was delightful to see her with the local chipmunks who readily hopped on her shoulder for peanuts. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Doris and Benny Adkins; and sister, Janice Dubois of Marianna, Fla. She is also survived by her in-laws, the Rev. P. Kingsley and Breezy Smith, Thomas Smith, Gwen and John Probst of Maryland and Kimberley and Ashton Nichols of Pennsylvania; and her nieces, Amy, Molly, Elizabeth, Tessa, Chloe and Rebecca. She will be missed by her faithful dog, Otis; and her longtime friends, Roxanne and Sharon. A private memorial gathering is planned for the fall in Maryland.
