JOYCE JACKSON With great sorrow the family announces the passing of Joyce Jackson in her 87th year on June 12, 2012. Joyce passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her cherished husband, the Rev. Walter Jackson. Joyce was the eldest daughter of the late Ronald and Jane Thomson and the loving sister of Ronald Thomson and the late Jean Meyrick. She will be sadly missed by her children Sam (MaryAnn), Jim (Ester), Jean (Tom Hitchins), Robert (Dawn), Grace (Paul Bishop), Andrew (Danielle); and grandchildren Daniel, David, Jennifer, Rachel, Emma, Sarah, Steven, Patrick, Elysia, Laura, Claire, Matthew, Brian, Rebecca; and great- grandchildren Lucy and Henry. Joyce was raised in Toronto, attending Dovercourt Road Presbyterian Church, where she met her future husband, Walter. Together they had a lifelong partnership in the service of the church. Joyce was passionate about family life, the cottage, her job at TD bank, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Whitby and her friends at Providence Place. The family wishes to thank Dr. Chris Hall, Partners in Community Nursing and ParaMed for the compassionate and professional care that Joyce received during her illness. Friends will be received at the W. C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas Street East in Whitby, on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 209 Cochrane St., Whitby.
