JOHN P. SCOTNICKI III - SHELBURNE - John P. Scotnicki III, 47, lived a healthy and active life for five years with Neuroendocrine Cancer until he passed away on June 2, 2013. John's 47 years were jam-packed with laughter, happiness, and endless adventure. He loved to fly fish, golf, paddle board, hike; really anything that required physical outdoor activity. After eight years of playing varsity lacrosse and soccer at ConcordCarlisle High School in Concord, Mass., and at the University of Vermont, John went on to be instrumental in founding the now thriving Shelburne Lacrosse program. But John's greatest joy was spending time with his family. Together with his wife, Lori, his focus was raising their children, Katherine (15) and Jack (13), and watching them develop into the extraordinary people they are. John's successful nineteen year career with Vermont Information Processing was a perfect fit, both professionally and personally. His job took him to all 50 states and he left lasting friendships in each of them. John was always the first to crack a joke or spread his warm smile, and he was always up for anything. In addition to his wife, Lori, and children, Katherine and Jack, John leaves behind his parents, Jack and Judy Scotnicki of Concord, Mass.; and his sister, Natasha, of Cambridge, Mass. Additionally, John will be missed by his extended family and a widespread community of friends. A memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, 29 Allen St., Burlington. Shelburne Funeral Chapel of Corbin and Palmer Funeral Homes, 209 Falls Rd., Shelburne, in care of arrangements.
