John Victor Montgomery of Saskatoon passed away October 9, 2011 at St. Paul's Hospital with the love of his life by his side. John (Jack) is survived by Mary Lou (nee Bergsveinson), his beloved wife of 66 years; and his loving family, daughters Lorna and Janet, and son Jeff (Judy); five grandchildren, Kris Mermigas (Mary Jane), Scott (Lisa), Maja, Adrian (Travis Taylor), and Natasha, four great grandchildren, Freyja, Brennan, Tikken, and Lorelle; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by three sisters, Pat Lawrence, Jean Beasley, and Irene (Tony Fischer), sister-inlaw, Peggy Joy (Les Weir), and brother-inlaw, Walter (Judy) Bergsveinson. John was predeceased by his brother Ronald. John was born May 18, 1925 in Saskatoon and made the city he loved his home for his entire life. He served in the Navy in WWII and while on leave in 1945 was wed to Mary Lou. He was an active community supporter. John was a man of numerous interests, and had a great many friends. Insurance man, entrepreneur, community servant, family man. He lived a full life of working hard to make good fortune happen. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Grosvenor Park United Church at 2 PM.
