Joe Henry Jenkins departed this life on Sept. 17, 2003. He was born to the late Samuel Jenkins and Bertha Grant of South Hampton County, Virginia on May 28, 1938. Joe leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, the mother of his children, Lizzie Clark of Spring Valley; three children, Laquanda and Felicia Jenkins of Spring Valley and Beverly (Gary) Marsden of Jacksonville, NC; fourteen grand children, Sequoia, Darius, Shykeem, David, Ricky, Tyisha, Shanise, Denise, Monifa, Demond, Clifton and Shyasia, all of Spring Valley, Destiny and Gary Jr. of Jacksonville, NC; five step children, the late Clifton and David Price, Ronnie Clark of Albany, NY, Denise (Joe) Foreman of Spring Valley and Darrell Clark of Charlotte, NC; nine step grand children, Shyreena, Shynee, Joe, Jamika, and Jamel, all of Spring Valley, Monique of Brooklyn, NY, Brenda and Darrell Jr. of Rochester, NY, and Geanna of Albany, NY; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 1 PM at the First Baptist Church of Spring Valley, Hoyt Street Spring Valley, N.Y. Hanneman Funeral Home, Inc. 88 South Broadway, Nyack, N.Y.
