James T. Curtin, longtime New Rochelle resident, died May 7th at the age of 93. Mr. Curtin was a retired commodities executive and former National Sales Manager for American Sugar Corporation and Thurston Greene & Company, respectively. Mr. Curtin received a Jesuit education at Brooklyn Prep and Fordham University. He was recently honored during a ceremony at the New York Athletic Club, recognized as a vibrant 50-year member of the club. Mr. Curtin was a crack handball player and champion long distance swimmer often representing the NYAC. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Virginia (Horan), by his only son, Edwin L., daughter-in-law, Maryanne (Burke), grandchildren Katherine and Elizabeth Curtin, all of Summit, NJ and by his sister, Harriet Arnone of Hicksville, NY. Viewing is scheduled for Friday, May 9, from 7 to 9 PM at the Graham Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 8:45 AM this Saturday at the Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle.
