WEOGUFKA, AL - Funeral service for James S. (Sam) Grimes, 87, will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Charles Moore and Rev. Joe Camp officiating. Burial will be in Grimes Chapel Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL. Mr. Grimes died Monday, March 11, 2013 at Bill Nichols Veteran Home in Alexander City, AL. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Theresa Marie Grimes; brother, Tom Grimes and his parents, Jessie and Marie Grimes. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Marie Grimes of Weogufka; sons, Tim Grimes, wife Amy and Jim Grimes, wife Mary both of Weogufka; sister, Hallie Grimes of Weogufka; grandchildren, Travis Grimes, wife Stacey, Chad Grimes, Wendy Nordquist, husband Pete, Jeremy Grimes, wife Christy; great-grandchildren, Bailey Grimes, Britt Grimes, Anna Nordquist, Emma Nordquist and Jessie Grimes. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eight Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001. Pallbearers will be Travis Grimes, Chad Grimes, Pete Nordquist, Gene Grimes, Adam Grimes, Rex Bryant and Jeremy Grimes.
