DOWNING, JAMES HORACE, age 77, formerly of Rockledge, FL, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 4, 2003 in Winter Park Towers. Born April 16, 1925 in Habira, GA, he attended High School in Habira, and was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corp during the final years of World War II. Upon graduation from Stetson University in 1950, Jim became a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and worked in Newark, Washington and Miami, where he retired in 1978. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Dorothy Downing. He will be dearly missed by all those who survived him, including his son, Grant Downing of Maitland; his loving companion, Ruby Hoover of Cocoa; and his two grandchildren, Brad Downing and Mallory Downing. There will be a memorial service at Rockledge Presbyterian Church, Friday, March 7, 2003 at 2PM, with interment at Florida Memorial Gardens following the service.
