James E. Kearney November 17, 2010 James E. Kearney, 87, died peacefully on November 17, 2010, at Van Duyn Home and Hospital. Jim was born September 29, 1923, and was adopted by Percy and James Kearney. He was a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area. Jim was a WW II veteran and was employed for many years in the transportation industry. Jim loved the Boston Red Sox and his cottage at Moon Lake. He was predeceased by his son, James Jr. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Marjorie O'Connor Kearney; his children, Christine (Gerald) Maslona of Liverpool, Marguerite (James) D'Agostino of Westvale, Mark Kearney of Westvale, Jack (Nancy) Kearney of Fayetteville, Matthew Kearney of Syracuse and Timothy (Lezlie) Kearney of Glenn Carbon, IL; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and by his dog, Molly. A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Westvale, with burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Central Square. Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Contributions may be made to the food pantry at St. Charles Borromeo Church.
