SMITH-Irene L. (nee Korody). Irene Smith of Regina, SK and formerly of Weirdale, SK was born June 4, 1931 and died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at the age of 75 years. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward David Smith; infant daughter, Beverly Smith; parents, Joseph and Mary Korody, Jack and Edith Smith; brothers, Steve, Allen, Joseph, James and Gary; sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, Rose and Jaquie. Irene is survived by her children, David (Marney), Richard (Heather), Glenn (Cindy), and Sharon (Arthur); grandchildren, Jaclyn (Mike), Kristin, Megan, Derek, Jeremy, Melissa, Patricia, Matthew, and Rane Skylar; great grandchildren, Ethan and Aiden. She is also survived by her sisters, Margery (Lyle) Hannington, Violet (Lou) Bartlett, Yvette Korody, Jean Korody, Eva Smith; brother, Clarence Brown also numerous nieces and nephews. Irene worked for the provincial government for several years until her retirement. Irene devoted her life to her family and children and will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Buwemba and the staff of 5A of RGH. Flowers graciously declined, donations in Irene's memory to the Neurological Unit at the Regina General Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at St. Anne's R.C. Parish, 1701 Cowan Cr., Regina, SK with Fr. Thomas Nguyen as Celebrant. Viewing for family and friends will be held at 7:00 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2006 at Paragon Funeral Services, 521 Victoria Ave., Regina, SK.
