PETERS _ Irene Rodina (nee Bakke) passed away Saturday, August 3, 2002. Born September 22, 1906 in Sandoon, North Dakota. Irene was predeceased by her loving husband George and daughter Sharon. Survived by sister Bernice Lernay in Saskatoon; daughters Vivian Punshon and Georgina Edwards; son Mervin; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Irene moved with her family to Yellowgrass, Saskatchewan in 1909, then to Regina and finally to Vancouver in 1942. During the war years, Irene was a crew leader at Boeing Aircraft in Richmond and later, together with her husband, owned and operated convenience stores in Vancouver, New Westminster, Surrey and Maple Ridge. Irene always kept herself in good shape and even with her work responsibilities she always put the family first and managed to do all the "Mom Things" for which she was dearly loved. The family wishes to extend it's heartfelt appreciation for the loving care provided by the Staff at Holyrood Manor in Maple Ridge. No flowers by request. Donations to the BC Cancer Fund in Irene's memory would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life/Farewell will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 10 at the home of Georgina Edwards, #20 - 19060 Ford Road, Pitt Meadows.
