LEOMINSTER -- Irene L. (Veasey) McDonald, 94, of 100 Main St., Leominster, died on Monday, Jan. 28, in the LaChance Center in Gardner. She was born on June 15, 1913, in Leominster, the daughter of Michael J. and Ellen (Taylor) Veasey. Mrs. McDonald was a graduate of Leominster High School, Class of 1931. She worked as a clothing stitcher for the former Cluet Peabody Co. in Leominster for 23 years, and then worked as a housekeeper for eight years at Leominster Hospital, retiring in 1980. Mrs. McDonald was a member of St. Leo’s Parish in Leominster, the Blessed Virgin Sodality at St. Leo’s Parish. She was a member of the Leominster Senior Center and the Leominster Golden Age, where she was secretary for 14 years. Mrs. McDonald is survived by a daughter, Mary Oliva of East Templeton; a daughter-in-law, Catherine (Grecco) McDonald of Leominster; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, J. Leonard McDonald in 1970; two sons, Michael J. McDonald, John D. McDonald; and a brother, Clarence Veasey. MCDONALD -- The funeral will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31, from the Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., Leominster, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Leo’s Church, 128 Main St., Leominster. Burial will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery in Leominster. There will be a calling hour on Thursday morning, Jan. 31, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
