Irene E. Smith EWING TOWNSHIP - Irene E. Smith, 77, died on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Care One, Ewing. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, Irene was raised in Plainsboro and graduated from Princeton public schools. She was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone as an operator and accountant and retired after 30 years of service. Mrs. Smith was a member of Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church of Princeton, where she served with the Stewardess Board and the Rachel Conover Missionary Society. Predeceased by her mother, Emma Brown, and one brother, Thomas H. Brown, she is survived by her husband, Thomas Smith of Ewing Township; one aunt, Ada Fisher, of Ewing; four sisters-in-law, Frances Smith of Willingboro, Jennell Smith of Ewing, Retha Smith and Rosilind Brown, both of Trenton; her goddaughter, Memphis Madden of Ewing, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church, 170 Witherspoon St., Princeton. Rev. Dr. Deborah L. Brooks, Pastor, officiating. Visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing Twp., NJ. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service.
