WEDGE, irene - At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, March 11, 2004, of Mrs. Irene Wedge, of 53 Northumberland Street, Summerside, age 97 years. Born in Summerside, she was the daughter of the late John and Leona (Sonier) DesRoches. Survived by her children, Jack (Phyllis), Summerside; Rose Wedge, Summerside; Peggy Wedge, Summerside; Sam (Yvonne), Fortune Cove; Pat (Rod) Arsenault, Summerside; and Harvey (Sandy), Summerside; by 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers John, Ajax, Ontario; and Jimmy DesRoches, Summerside; by a sister, Mrs. Tina Perry, Lawrence, Mass.; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, J.J. Wedge, a son, Paul and a daughter Marjorie, in infancy; by brothers Leonard, Peter and Herman DesRoches and by sisters Mrs. Agnes Gallant and Mrs. Catherine Sonier. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Monday, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment later in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or St. Paul’s Cemetery Fund would be appreciated. www.moase.ca
