Irene Carter, age 81, of Crestview, Fla., passed away Monday, March 8, 2010.She was born on March 27, 1928, in Walton County, Fla., and lived in Crestview since 1957. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Carter; parents, Warren and Varnie Scott; and three brothers, James, Oliver and Walter Scott. Survivors include four children, Virginia Fentress, Johnnie Rico, Rose Townsend and Betty Povlacs; brother, Lloyd (Myrtis) Scott; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11, in the chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Bill Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in DeFuniak Springs, Fla.The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Brackney Funeral Service, Crestview, is in charge of arrangements.
