She was born August 26, 1919, a daughter of Annie Reed Cabe and Thornton Baker Cabe.Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, December 22, at Melton Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Old Savannah Baptist Church Cemetery. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Catherine Cabe and Virginia Ruth Bradley; her brother Thornton Baker Cabe, Jr. Also, her husbands, Albert Jackson Bradley(1940), Nelson David Tatham(1967), and W. J. Fisher(1989).Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Anne Bradley and Hugh Wallace of Wadesboro, NC; Linda Nell Tatham and Brainard Cummins of Sylva, NC ; her grandsons Steve (Mary) Wallace, Kirk(Kristi) Wallace, both of Norwood, NC David Cummins of Sylva, Brian Cummins(Jaclyn) of Fort Smith, AR; and six great grandchildren, Mary Catherine, Steven, Anna, Abbey and John Wallace and Riley Cummins. Mrs. Fisher is also survived by a stepdaughter, Anne Fisher Cabe, and 4 step grandchildren; Bill Cabe, Cathy Foxx, Christy Young, Cindy Young and several step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Gladys Clark and brother-in-law, Lyle Clark and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fisher graduated from Webster High School. She held many jobs, including at Jackson Furniture Co. and 8 years in the Registrars Office at Western Carolina University. She was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Sylva, where she participated in the Ruby Daniel Circle and many other activities of the church. She enjoyed playing Bridge, with her friends; but, her greatest love was her family.Her family wishes to extend their immense appreciation to the staff of Morningstar of Jackson County, and Westcare Home Health and Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.Melton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
