INA RUTH MITCHELL HUGHES1914 - 2009Ina Ruth Mitchell Hughes, age 94 of Pace, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2009. She was a native of Luverne, Alabama and had lived in the Pace area most of her life.She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Velma Mitchell, her husband Thomas G. Hughes, step-son, Billy T. Hughes, her son, Thomas R. Hughes and numerous brothers and sisters.She is survived by her sons, Ronnie F. Hughes, John W. (Belinda) Hughes, Donald D. (Paula) Hughes, daughter-in-law, Myra Hughes; grandchildren, Tina (John) Stoltman, John David Hughes, Danny Hughes, Sarah (Victor) Sherrel, Hillary Hughes, Jennifer (Dave) Wheeler, Lisa (Todd) Covert; great grandchildren Travis, Jessie, and Jadey Stoltman, Jordan Wilkinson; sisters, Bessie Lou Ellison and Eleanor Dixon and numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Mrs. Hughes will be at 1:00 PM Sunday, January 25, 2009 in the Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel with Doctor the Reverend Royce W. Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabeth Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel. The family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff at the Health Center of Pensacola.Active pallbearers will be John David Hughes, Danny Hughes, Maurice Ballard, Lee Jernigan, Jerry Lambert, and Robert (Bob) Hughes.Honorary Pallbearers will be, Joe Hughes, Billie Beal, Willy Cauthen, Bobbie Cassidy, Vic Goeller, Lee Jernigan, and Jimmy Jernigan.
