ALBANY Ida V. Miller, 84, died Monday, September 20, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Hackney, London, England, she was the daughter of the late William and Beatrice Webley Eskell and came to this country in 1946. She worked as a bookkeeper for Lloyds of London, Polk & Haines, CBI and Equifax. She also served in the British ATS Signal Corps under General Eisenhower during World War II. Ida loved to knit and always put her family first in life. She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Miller who died in 1974 and whom she married in France in 1945. Loving mother of Beverly K. Miller (John A. Miller Jr.) of Colonie, Lynette J. Fuegmann of Greenville and Michael J. Miller of Albany; grandmother of Cheryl Lynn LaFrenier, Jennifer Packard, Richette Cleary, Crystal Miller, Michael J. Miller Jr. and Richard Cleary II and De Anna Miller; great-grandmother of Jeanette Packard; sister of Winifred Young, Daphne Galloway, Madeline Williams, all of England and the late Reginald, Frederick and Gordan Eskell; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany with Fr. Stephen Hart officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Graceland Cemetery.
