Mrs. Smith moved to Gainesville, FL from Greenville, in 1961 and was a member of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include; her children: Connell Smith, Isaiah Smith, Jr., Jonathan Smith, Elijah Smith, Sandra S. Jones, and Sharda Smith, all of Gainesville, FL, and Ola Smith Curtis, Archer, FL. Brother: Ernest Houston, Rochester, NY; sister, Bertha Alexander, Pinetta, FL; eighteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be 11am, Sat. June 7, 2008 at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Adrian Taylor officiating; burial will follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park East Arrangements entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N. W. 8t" Ave., Gainesville, FL. Visitation: Chestnut Memorial Chapel, Fri., June 6, 2008, 2-8pm, and on Sat., at the Church 10am until the hour of service; there will be no viewing following the eulogy.
