Irene Kathleen Gehlhardt Johnson, 67, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Thursday, August 14, 2003 at Indian River Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born January 16, 1936 in Secaucus, New Jersey. She moved to Vero Beach in 1988 from Nanuet, NY. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband Ragnar Johnson of Vero Beach, FL, daughter Kathleen Barrett of Vero Beach, FL, son Dwain Johnson of Nanuet, NY, sister Joan Mackey of Phoenix, AZ, brother Texas Gehlhardt of Nanuet, NY and five grandchildren. Donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Indian River County, 1111 36th Street, Vero Beach, FL, 32960 or to the charity of one's choice. At the request of the family, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
