-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Raymond, Howard LyleDadeville, AL: Howard Lyle Raymond, 74, of the Still Waters community in Dadeville, AL, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Mr. Raymond was born in Baldwinsville, NY to the late Lyle and Eileen Raymond and is also preceded in death by one sister, Judy Herrala. Mr. Raymond is survived by his wife, Jeanette D. Raymond of Dadeville; two daughters, Kelly Sue (Nico) Giampietro of Selma, AL, Shelly (Rafael) DeJesus of Buford, GA; two step-sons, Brandon (Kylie) Gautney of Alabaster, AL, Jason (Anna) Gautney of Auburn, AL; three step-grandchildren, Caleb Richardson, Taylor Gautney and Samuel Gautney; one brother, Clarence (Sandy) Raymond of Altoona, FL, one sister, Cherry Luzzader of Hyde Park, UT. Mr. Raymond was a graduate of Ithaca High School, Ithaca, NY. He attended Morrisville College, IBM Technical Training School, and Florida Building and Management School. Mr. Raymond was a business owner and serviced IBM equipment for 25 years. He owned and managed apartment houses in upstate NY as well as managing condos in St. Croix , U.S.V.I and Naples, FL. Mr. Raymond loved the outdoors. This included camping, sailing, canoeing, whitewater rafting, hunting, fishing, traveling, golfing, motorcycle enduro racing and amateur car racing. Mr. Raymond was a lifetime member and occasional spokesperson for the NRA as well as being a certified firearms instructor. He was a member of several wildlife organizations and a lifetime supporter of Native American education. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 24 at 10:00 AM CST at Red Ridge United Methodist Church, 8091 County Road 34, Dadeville AL with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM CST with the pastor, Rev. Paul Messer and Rev. John Mann officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following charities: The Help Fund at Red Ridge United Methodist Church, The Salvation Army of Alexander City AL, The St. Labre Indian School, 1000 Tongue River Rd., Ashland, Mt. 59003 or St. Joseph's Indian School, PO box 826, Chamberlain, SD 57326.Alabama Funeral Homes and Cremation Centers of Dadeville is handling arrangements. www.alabamafuneralhomes.com.
