Howard Johnson, 71, Bradenton, died Aug. 14, 2003. He was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Manatee County and was a lifelong resident. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include daughters Lena Johnson Butterfield and Colleen Johnson, both of Bradenton; sons Clarence of Orlando, Riley of Ellenton, and Brian of Bradenton; sisters Lela Mae Campbell and Mary Catherine Jones, both of Sarasota, Gladys Marie Fox of Bonifay, Barbara Ann Maddox of North Port, and Shirley Grace Ramsey of Live Oak; a brother, Charles Edward of Bradenton; and one grandchild. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Braden River Cemetery. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, South Chapel, is in charge.
