Horace Mac MacDonald, 82      KENNEBUNK -- Horace Mac MacDonald, 82 years, of Kennebunk died, April 13, 2008 at Kennebunk Nursing Home.      Mac was born in Sanford on Sept. 15, 1925 the son of Arthur and Mildred Scott MacDonald. He attended schools in Waterboro and later served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a gunner on supply ships. He served in the Mediterranean Campaign in Anzio and St. Tropez Beachheads and was on one of the first ships in Tokyo Bay. He was proud to serve his country.      After the war, he attended school in Providence, R.I. as an aircraft mechanic. Moving back to Maine, he was the first employee of K&E Company in a group that developed new surveying instruments and was a supervisor until the plant closed in 1985. Later, he taught center less grinding for Henry Hanson Company and he retired from Hussey Seating as a Toolmaker. He was a life time member of the Village Baptist Church in Kennebunkport serving as a Deacon and property chairman.      Mac loved to hunt and fish. His most loved place to hunt was Star Hill in Waterboro with his son Roger and his friend Al. He loved the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Patriots. He enjoyed going to McDonalds for coffee with his friends in the morning. He was often found in the lobby of Kennebunk Nursing Home playing cribbage with his friends. Most of all, he loved to make people laugh; he could tell you a story on most any subject.      Mac was very proud of his family especially his grandchildren.      He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Lois Thompson MacDonald, and his parents, Mildred MacDonald Callback and Arthur MacDonald. Mac is survived by two sons, Roger MacDonald of Berwick and Barry MacDonald and his wife Robin of Kennebunk; one sister, Iona Johnson of Brooksville, Fla.; grandchildren, Kimberly and Todd Emmons, Tracey and Tom Roy, Angie and Dan Bragdon, and Jennifer and Tom Wendell. He is also survived by six great grandchildren, Samantha and Ryan Emmons, Colby and Brayden Roy, Jude Bragdon, and Garrett Wendell; and his companion and best friend, Margaret Doane.      Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16 at 11 a.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel with Rev. Patricia Batten. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterboro.      The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff at Kennebunk Nursing home and to Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mac.     Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk. www.bibberfuneral.com
