Helene Wallack (nee Raymond), 102, of Hillside, N.J., passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, in Cranford Health and Extended Care Center in Cranford, N.J. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Growney Funeral Home, (www.growneyfuneral.com) 1070 N. Broad St., Hillside. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at Christ the King Church, Hillside. Entombment is at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Newark, N.J. Born in Lawrence, Mass., Helene lived in Elizabeth, N.J., prior to moving to Hillside in 1939. She was a financial clerk at Bristol Myers in Hillside for eight years, retiring in 1977. Helene was a past president of the Rosary Society of Christ the King Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council 3197, and was also a member of the Retirees Club of Bristol Myers. Helene was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Wallack; devoted mother of Joseph R. Wallack and his wife, Maryfrances; dear sister of Jean Tomchek; loving grandmother of two, great-grandmother of two, and great-great-grandmother of four; and is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
