Mrs. Helen Z. Smith - Savannah -Mrs. Helen Zeigler Smith, 88, entered her journey, Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 7:15 a.m., at the home of her daughter under hospice care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. She was born in Screven County, GA, most of her life, until coming to live with her daughter a year ago in Savannah, GA. She was a member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Sylvania, GA. She was the care giver of many families including the former Mayor W.H. Larisy, Jr. of Sylvania, GA. Survivors include a son Herbert Smith, Jr. of Sylvania, GA; daughter, Mary Helen Smith of Savannah, GA; stepdaughter, Mrs. Beatrice Smith Davis of Statesboro, GA; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Smith Christian of Statesboro, GA, Mrs. Jessie Mae Zeigler of Ft. Myers, FL. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 7-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2006 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Railroad St. Sylvania, GA, with Rev. Dr. Perry McNeal officiating and Rev. Dr. Diane B.
