->BINGHAM -- Helen Y. Hartwell, 76, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Cedar Center in Skowhegan.She was born Aug. 16, 1933, in Concord, the daughter of Henry King and Yvonne Roy.She was educated in Bingham schools. She married Robert G. Hartwell on Feb. 26, 1952.Helen was a lifelong resident of Bingham. She was employed at Quimby Veneer Mill in Bingham from 1964 to 1974, from 1974 to 1977 at Kipi of Maine in Bingham and from 1977 to 2000 at Dexter Shoe in Skowhegan.Helen dedicated her life to her family, she was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting, and gardening, and she loved her house plants.Helen was predeceased by her husband of 56 years; a sister, Theresa Davis; and a granddaughter-in-law, Kina Hebert. She is survived by her children, Blaine A. Hartwell and companion, Amber Rogers, of Bingham, Karen M. Hebert of Embden, Gordon R. Hartwell and his wife, Diane, of Bingham; grandchildren Jennifer Raybourn and her husband, Jon, Jessica Hartwell and her companion, Patrick, Austin A. Hartwell, Shane Hebert, Philip Hebert, Brandy Hill and her husband, Leo, Jason Hartwell and his wife, Laura, and Luke Hartwell and his wife, Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Sylas Raybourn, Braden Raybourn, Jaidlyn Mala, Alizah Mala, Kani Bertke, Storm Hebert, Brielle Hill and Madeline Hill; sisters, Claire Smith of Madison and Betty Plamondon of Quebec; several nieces and nephews.A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Sunset Cemetery in North Anson. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the Somerset Humane Society, P.O. Box 453, Skowhegan, ME 04976.
