COUGHLIN Helen Whalen Coughlin, age 89, of Ansonia, died on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at Griffin Hospital. She was the widow of Richard M. Coughlin. She was born in Ansonia, on April 20, 1915, daughter of the late Patrick and Anna Heaphy Whalen. Helen was a retired employee of Griffin Hospital, working in the Central Processing Dept. She was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and formerly resided on North Cliff Street. She is survived by one son, Patrick J. and Erin Coughlin of Seymour; one grandson, Braeden; niece and companion, Judy Gascoign, niece, Jean Smucker; nephew, William Hill; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Catherine Whittaker, Mary Hill and Anna Gascoign; five brothers, Matthew, John, James, Francis and Patrick Whalen. Funeral service on Friday at 9 a.m. from the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 North Cliff Street, Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of the Assumption. Burial will be in Mount St. Peter s Cemetery. Calling hours TODAY from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations to the Assumption School in care of the funeral home.
