Helen Migliarotti Smith, 81, of Cottontail Lane, North Haven, died March 7, 2009, at the Regency House, Wallingford. She was the wife of the late Cornelius B. Smith. Born in New Haven, Sept. 30, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Josephine Porto Migliarotti. Helen worked as a department manager for the former Caldors until her retirement. She was a generous blood donor and was instrumental in her Pine Grove section of North Haven development. She is survived by her children, Diane (David) Matikowski, of Wallingford, Neil B. Smith, Mark A. (Donna) Smith, all of North Haven, and Bruce W. (Andrea) of Tuczon, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Julia M. Vincent and Mary Vincent Pelvin. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Barnabas Church on March 11. Interment was in Beaverdale Memorial Park. The North Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
