SMITH, Helen Croft, 86, of Orlando, Fla., passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2006. She was a native Floridian and adopted at a young age by Maude Croft and raised in Hernando, Fla. Helen was a member of Elk Lodges #1830 and 1079 and Does #66 Orlando. She was also a member in the Red Hat Club and Trea Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her son, Clarence Ernest Smith, Jr. and her daughter, Joyce H. Smith and grandson, Kenny-Mike. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Clarence E. Smith, Sr.; son, Dennis E. Smith and wife, Karen B., Orange City, Fla.; brother, Hugh Grimes and wife, Dori; sister, Mazie Thompson, both of Winter Garden, Fla. and grandchildren, Kim, Melanie, Robert, Colin, Tracy, Kathi and Kevin and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2006, at the Carey Hand Funeral Home, Orlando, and the service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, Fla.
