SMITH -The passing of Helen Margurite Smith (Carlson) of Swanson, SK occurred on September 22nd, 2005 at her residence at the age of 86. She was born on November 15, 1918 to Elfrieda and Egbert Carlson at Swanson, SK. She was married to Richard Smith on November 24, 1938. They moved to Conquest, SK. On January 29, 1940 Howard was born, Marilynn June 1942 and Corey May 1947. They farmed at Conquest until 1958 when they moved to a small ranch at Swanson where she lived until her passing. She took over the post office in Ardath in 1968 and the store in 1971 which she operated until she retired in 1983. She enjoyed visiting and playing cards. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Richard (1999); three brothers Harold, Ernest and Gaylord; sister-inlaw Eva Carlson. She is survived by her son Howard (Eleanor); daughter Marilynn; son Corey (Heather); grandchildren James; Shelly (Mick); Shane (Lori); Lacy (Tyler); Dallas; Jodi (Luke); great grandchild Levi; Lindsay; Brandi; Chance; Brysyn, Teagan. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Wilson of Hamilton, ON; sister-in-law Luella Carlson of Saskatoon, SK and numerous nieces and nephews; one aunt Ester Peregrine, Milwaukee, WI and many cousins in the United States, Sweden and Germany. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25th, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Swanson Hall, Swanson, SK with Barry Friesen officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Helen's memory donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8. Arrangements are in care of the Outlook Funeral Chapel.
