WILSON - Helen Ruth of Saskatoon, SK passed away peacefully at Luther Special Needs Home on Wednesday, November 9th, 2005 at the age of 82. Helen was born May 27th, 1923 near the family farm at Hazlet, SK. Helen is lovingly remembered by George, her husband of 39 years; son Brent (Faye) Pendleton; grandchildren Marceda, Amanda, Chance (Bonnie), Keefe and Avery; sister Jean Flood; brothers Harvey, Barry, Marshall, Bill (Dora) Hurrell; sisters-in-law Arlene (Don) Duff, Maxine Watson, Carolyn (Lawson) Sugden, Dorothy Burnett; brothers-in-law Gage (Martha) Pendleton, Ralph (Pat) Pendleton, Dale (Sue) Wilson, her very favorite little dog Midas. Helen was predeceased by her parents Reg and Mrytle Hurrell; first husband Keith Pendleton in 1959 and son Reggie in 1969. Helen met George in 1963 and they were married July 23rd, 1966 in Swift Current. After raising her two sons, Brent & Reggie, Helen worked in various retail stores and finished her working career at Woolworth Dept. store in Saskatoon. Helen was affectionately called "Nana " by her grandchildren. In their younger years, Nana enjoyed babysitting the grandchildren. Birthday parties were always a special occasion at her place with supper, cake and of course, lots of presents. She took them to swimming lessons, shopping, camping and various other trips. Helen enjoyed traveling to various parts of Canada to visit relatives and friends. There were several winter trips to warmer climates such as California, Florida, Hawaii, Jamaica, Cuba plus business trips and conventions with George. At Helen's request, there will be no Funeral Service. Her ashes will be laid to rest in Swift Current at a later date. The family wish to extend many thanks to the staff at Luther Special Care Unit for the excellent care and support given to Helen during her time at the facility. At the family's request, in memory of Helen, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Saskatchewan Inc. (1405 Faulkner Cres., Saskatoon, SK S7L 3R5) or Luthercare Foundation Inc.
