->Davis, Helen ReasorOur beloved mother and grandmother, Helen Reasor Davis, 86, went to be with the Lord October 24th, 2012. Helen was born September 21, 1926 in Post Creek, NY to the late Michael and Anna Sweeney. She graduated from Corning Northside High School. She married the love of her life, Theodore Reasor, in 1945 and resided with him in Painted Post, NY. Later, she was a resident of Spencer, NY for 18 years and has lived in Ithaca, NY for the past 33 years. She had careers in farming, retail, real estate and banking, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, as well as a faithful and strong servant of God. Her loved ones remember her as a remarkable and humble woman who enjoyed being surrounded by family, serving others, and who persevered in all things. Besides her parents and husband of 14 years, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, John Sweeney, Mary Huslander, Sally Lutes, Katherine Carlton, Kay Richardson, Andy Sweeney and Frank Sweeney; dear friend, Emery Skinkle; and niece, Sharon Harris. She is survived by her son, Douglas (Kathy) Reasor of Spencer, NY; daughter, Debora (Gary) Checksfield of Brooktondale, NY; and son, David (Beverly) Reasor of University Park, MD. Helen is also survived by her four grandchildren, Tom (Brighton) Reasor, Colleen (John) Strong, Kylie (Oliver) Smith, and Caleb Checksfield; as well as four great-grandchildren, Rivers and Roxanne Reasor, Caitlin and Jackson Strong; special niece, Marcia Sullivan; and sister-in-law, Doris Sweeney. The family would like to express sincere and heartfelt thanks to her team of doctors and nurses at Cayuga Medical Center, as well as the kind and caring teams at Ithaca Dialysis Center and Ithaca Gadabout. The family will receive family and friends Saturday, October 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at Herson Funeral Home, 110 S. Geneva Street, Ithaca, NY. Interment will be at Rural Home Cemetery, Big Flats, NY. Memorial donations may be made to Ithaca Dialysis, 201 Dates Drive, Suite 206, Ithaca, NY 14850.
