Helen R. Morris, 91, of Walnut Grove, passed away on Saturday evening, June 24, 2006, in Doctor's Hospital, Springfield, following and extended illness. Helen was born in Polk County and grew up in the Buffalo area and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1932. She was a homemaker and was retired from Cox Medical Center as a word clerk. She was a longtime member of the Center Baptist Church, near Ash Grove, where she was active in the W.M.U. Helen Davis and Richter "Richie" Morris were united in marriage on November 21, 1945. To this union one son was born. Together they were privileged to share 47 years. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1993. Also preceding her were her parents, John R. and Ada Calloway Davis one brother, Charles "Bunch" Davis and two sisters, Elizabeth Crosby and Irene Brownfield. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lynn Morris of Walnut Grove and two grandsons, Eric and wife, Amanda Hambey and Derrick Morris and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at 2 p.m. in Wilson-Brim-Daniel Chapel, Ash Grove, with Rev. Mitch Fisher officiating with interment following in Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
