Julia Helen "Lefty" Peters, 90, of 109 Hedge Street, died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at her residence after a period of declining health. She was a daughter of the late B.W. and Sara Armstrong Burdette. She was best known for walking to her destinations, then ending her errands by stopping at Burdette Hardware, which was her father's store.Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Becky Peters, of Fountain Inn; a sister, Bertha Bozeman, of Simpsonville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two devoted caregivers, Evelyn and Carianne Meadows.A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Simpsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery.In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorials to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Spartanburg, S.C. 29301.-Cannon Funerals and Cremations is serving the Peters family.
