Helen N. MillerSurprise, AZ - On February 23, 2015, Helen N. Miller, 88, native of Worcester, MA, passed away at Banner Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West, AZ after being stricken at home. At her side were her loving husband of sixty-seven years, George N. Miller native of Reading, PA and her family. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Miller Heroux and husband Mark, Sandy Miller and spouse Ann Careau all of Surprise, AZ, her son, Robert Miller and his wife Brenda (Landgren) of Spring, TX; sisters, Josephine Widun of Naples, FL, Mary Boulay and her husband Robert of Spencer MA; brother-in-law, Albert Pavolis of Webster MA; cousin, Eleanor Graff and her husband William of Monroe Township, NJ; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces/nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved mother and father, Yadviga and Alexander Kaliunas; infant daughter, Sharon Patricia; her sisters, Elizabeth Pavolis and Frances West; brothers-in-law, Bernard West, Vincent Widun; and half-sister Anna Damstrom. Before she was married, Helen graduated from Fanning Trade High School and then pursued her long career as skilled baker and cake decorator. She continued her work in the food service industry with the Worcester Public Schools as a cafeteria worker, then as a manager for many years prior to retirement. As she raised her family she enjoyed numerous roles, including Cub Scout den mother, PTA & Union president, drum corps & hockey mom chauffeur, artistic creator of beautiful birthday and wedding cakes, co-planner of wonderful extended family gatherings and family vacations, but her true vocation and passion was that of wife & mother. Helen also loved her summers at Cape Cod, square dancing with dearest friends, her first retirement home in Ocala, Florida, travel, gardening, rallying behind her childrens' favorite sports teams, and of course her favorite player AZ Cardinal Larry Fitzgerald. She and George moved to Arizona in 2005 where they were able to enjoy their new home, family, sunshine, and new friends. Her family and friends are devastated by her sudden passing yet are forever grateful for her love, loyalty and devotion to all. The family would like to give special thanks to the Sun City West EMTs and all the staff, doctors and nurses at Banner Del Webb Hospital for the care and compassion they provided our mom. Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. A funeral Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Church in Sun City West, AZ on March 6th, 2015 at 10 AM.
