HOOKSETT - Helen May Green, 87, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully at home Friday, April 6, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Derek B. Green, October 31, 1999.Helen was born in Birmingham England, the daughter of Samuel and Rosa Watts. A veteran of WW II, she served in the Women's Royal Naval Service from 1943 to 1946 and immigrated to the United States with her husband and daughters in 1966. An avid gardener and an active member of many local civic organizations including the Manchester, Derryfield and Bedford Garden Clubs, the Hooksett-ites, and the Cashin Senior Center, she was a well respected residential Realtor in the Manchester area for many years, until her retirement in 1995. She was also an avid bridge player and a champion candlepin league bowler. Helen's lively spirit, loyal friendship, sense of humor, and considerate nature will be very sadly missed by her family and many friends.Helen is survived by three daughters, Vivien F. Green, Jennifer Jean and Elizabeth Todd; her son-in-law, John Todd; and four grandchildren, Clair and Andrew Todd, Kyle and Hayley Jean.Following cremation calling hours will be Saturday, April 14, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., Manchester.
