BURNS Helen May Francis Burns, age 93, of Oxford entered into rest on Thursday, February 12, 2008 at the Hilltop Healthcare Center in Ansonia. She was the devoted wife of the late Donald Burns. Helen was born in Bridgeport on July 8, 1915, daughter of late Emanuel and Mary Perry Francis. She worked at GE during World War II while her husband served our country. She then stayed home to raise her family in a loving home. She had great love for animals and enjoyed gardening in her spare time. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Bridgeport. Helen was the beloved mother of Carol Mayers and her husband, Lyndon of Oxford. She will be greatly missed by her three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Elsie Turner and Mabel Wilson. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport at 11 a.m. The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby has been entrusted with the arrangements.
