Helen-Marie Cox, née en 1913, conjointe de Heaven Cox, fille de Frank et Mary, est décédée à l'âge de 93 ans. Veuillez consulter son avis de décès ici:
COX Helen Marie Cox, 93, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 29. Mrs. Cox was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on August 13, 1913, and spent most of her childhood in Tampa. She was the eldest of six children born to Mary and Frank Ascherman. She was married to George Boykin "G.B" Cox in September 1931, and they moved to Jacksonville in 1952. He worked for Atlantic Coastline Railroad for 47 years. Their love story lasted for 57 years until his death in 1989. Mrs. Cox was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, one sister, and one nephew. She was a long-time member of the former Woodlawn Baptist Church. She always had a special way, and it was because she lived her life always putting Jesus first. It was apparent in the loving way she treated her family, friends, church, and community. She was always kind and thoughtful and never had a harsh word for anyone. She was a meticulous homemaker, and enjoyed entertaining and receiving friends and family at her home on Meteor Street for many years. Visitors never left-empty-handed as she would always send them off with something delicious from her home. She was gifted in the art of ceramics, and won many ribbons for her pieces, and lovingly gave those cherished pieces to others. She was a wonderful example of a Christian woman and those who knew her were better for it. She will sorely missed by all but we rejoice knowing that she is reunited with her beloved husband and other family in Heaven, where she can sing and " have church" with Jesus every day. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Georgia C. and Edward F. Livengood, with whom she lived for the past ten years; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Judy Cox; sister, Annie Mae Tisdale; three grandsons, Barry ( Jennifer) Livengood, Garry ( Renee)Livengood, and Roger ( Brenda) Cox; and eight grand-children who were the love of her live: Ashton & Lauren Livengood; Garrett, Hunter, Karlee, & Kenlyn Livengood; Brandon and Jared Cox. Her happiest days were with her great-grandchildren. "MeMe, Raise the Roof!" We will always miss you and cherish the sweet memories. There will be a viewing at the Town & Country Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 3 at 9:00 AM, with graveside services immediately following with Rev. Ray Mayfield officiating.
