Helen was born July 20, 1922 to George and Thelma Lea in Fordland, Missouri. Helen married Billy George Watts on May 20, 1943. During Bill's years of military service, they traveled the world and Helen often told stories about living overseas in Germany and Libya. While Bill served in the military, Helen managed the accounting departments and a number of business offices both here and abroad. Bill retired from the Air Force at Luke in Glendale, Arizona in 1962. In 1978, they returned to their family roots in Missouri. Throughout her life, Helen was a very friendly and compassionate woman who often told jokes to everyone, including strangers. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill and granddaughter Deborah Lea Snodgrass. She is survived by her daughter Susan Elizabeth Snodgrass (Chris) of Glendale, Arizona, grandson Steve Snodgrass (Rachel) of Fordland, Missouri, and great-grandchildren Karlee, Matthew and Riley Snodgrass; son Gregory George Watts (Sue) of Phoenix, Arizona, granddaughter Stacey Barrett (Sean) of Phoenix, great-grandchildren Tanner and Brody Barrett and grandson Bradley Watts of Phoenix; daughter Patricia Lea Watts of Occidental, California, and grandson Noah Gabriel Watts of Los Angeles, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday June 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Rogersville Missouri in Preston-Marsh Funeral Home, 314 South Main Street. Visitation is Sunday June 17, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. Helen will be buried with her husband Bill in the military section of the Springfield National Cemetery following the service.
