TIMMINS, Helen Mae (nee Gould) May 8, 1921-July 11, 2008 Our Mom died quietly and with dignity on this beautiful summer's day. She was born in Edmonton on May 8, 1921 to Gordon and Margaret Gould. She spent her early years there, and met her best friend, John (Jack) Timmins. This friendship turned into a long and happy marriage until Jack passed away in 1990 in Victoria, with Mom by his side. Mom had a brief career with the Royal Bank, and after they married, they spent time in Northern Alberta and Oklahoma, while Jack was in the oil business. Many happy years were spent in Calgary, golfing, skiing the mountains in Banff, and snow birding to Maui, and California. They travelled extensively. Jack and Helen moved from Calgary to Victoria in 1980, and even though they missed their friends in Calgary, they enjoyed year-round golf at Uplands Golf course. Mom continued to travel after Dad's death, including a dream adventure safari to Kenya. She enjoyed her membership in Club Elle. Mom had a great talent and appreciation for art, and she handed down this knowledge and love for art to her children and grandchildren. Jack and Helen had two girls: Susan (Morley) Cooper and Nancy (Jim) Eidt (deceased). Left to morn her loss is her Grandson, Ken (Lisa) Jones and her only Great Granddaughter, Ruby, Granddaughter Tina (Penny) Jones from Gabriola, and Grandson Cam (Laura) Cooper and Granddaughter Carolyn Cooper. Predeceased by brothers Ray (Shirley) Gould, and Ross and Gloria Phillips, she is survived in Victoria by sister-in-law Anita (Ritchie) Martin, and their children Tara, Tina, and Carew. Mom loved her dogs: Lau, Kye, Pepper, and finally Jazz. They were her constant companions. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Jubilee Hospital Emergency and Royal 2 wards. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements are being made by McCall Bros. Funeral Chapel. There will be no memorial service, at the family's request. WE'LL MISS YOU, MOM. FLY HIGH! 485289
