Helen Blackler (née Mitchell) June 09, 1922 - January 24, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) BLACKLER (Mitchell), Helen - 82, Bayside, passed away suddenly, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 24, 2005, at the home of her daughter. Born June 9, 1922, in Newcastle, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Hollett) Mitchell. Helen retired from the county of Halifax after many years of service at their office on Dutch Village Road. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Wilfred Gordon; daughter, Cassandra and son-in-law, David Ernst, Bayside; grandsons, Matthew, Nathan; sister, Kathleen Power, Lower Sackville. She was predeceased by sisters, Theresa McGrath, Jenny Doucette; brothers, Nicholas and George Mitchell. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, Halifax. Cremation has taken place. Notification of memorial service and interment will be announced at a later date. Donations in Helen's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Cassandra and her family are comforted and appreciative of the outpouring of condolences from family and friends.
