Helen L. Smithof BinghamtonHelen L. Smith, 94, formerly of 100 Chenango Place, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at the home of her son. She was predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Louise Maxian; her husband, Paul J. Smith; and her sister, Eva Dennis. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Frances Smith, Kirkwood; four grandchildren, June Wyatt, N.C., Brenda Dean, N.C., Doreen McSain and her husband Michael, Johnson City, Gina Scheidegger and her husband David, Afton; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; a niece, Jean Dempsey and her husband Charles, Va.; three grand nephews; a cousin, Arlene Deiter, Pa.; two special friends, Connie and Virginia, as well as many dear friends at 100 Chenango Place. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, and a retiree of the ANSCO Corp with 41 years of service. She was active with RSVP and Meals on Wheels.Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton, followed at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
