Harris , Helen Joyce Reese, 80, formerly of Coral Springs, Florida died Sunday, December 3, 2006 in East Jordan. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in East Jordan. Rev. Nancy Rohde will officiate. She was born on August 1, 1926 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Ormi and Helen (Dillow) Reese. She grew up in Flint and graduated from Flint Central High School. On July 12, 1946 in Flint, she married Nelson Harris. They had made their home in Flint, Kalamazoo, Lansing, West Bloomfield and last in Coral Springs, FL before moving to East Jordan in 2006. Joyce was a successful real estate agent in her younger years. She was an avid duplicate bridge player and an epicurean. She loved to entertain her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Nelson Harris of East Jordan; four children, Diana (Don) Moss of North Carolina, Vicki (Steven) Garlitz of East Jordan, Donn (Laura) Harris of Waterford and Laura (Michael) Beck of Coral Springs, Florida; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jack Reese. Memorials may be given to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P. O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. The family was served by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.
