Brennan, Helen JoanNov. 19, 1925 - July 20, 2012Helen Brennan, 86 of Sarasota, FL formerly of East Islip New York, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20th 2012 with family by her side. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed Brennan. She was a loving mother to Karen Gancio and Steven Mistretta of Sarasota FL., Michael Mistretta, Virginia, Robert Mistretta, Sacramento, CA. Loving Grandmother to Lisa Leon, Joseph Gancio, Jr., and Jennifer Shumway all of Sarasota, FL. Michael Mistretta and Lauren Cameron of Sacramento, CA and Dylan & Tyler Mistretta of Orlando, FL. and Shannon Hollins of New York. Proud Great Grandmother to Anthony Gancio, Evan Leon, Joseph and Joslyn Shumway, her "Special Angel". She will be dearly missed by her sister, best friend and side kick Sophie Prete of Naples, FL. and all her former associates at "Linens & Things" and her many friends. Services will be private and her family would like to express their deep appreciation for the care and support given by all.
