SMITH, HELEN JEAN, of Louisville, died Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Parkway Nursing & Rehab Center. She was the former Helen Jean Kersteter, a native of Turbotville, PA, a retired teletype operator for Westinghouse, a member of the American Legion Shawnee Post #193 and Walnut Street Baptist Church, and a Navy veteran of World War II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Argel Reed Smith. She is survived by her friend and caregiver, J.D. Smith and other loving friends. Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Highway with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
