Helen E. Jarvis 1917-2009 BELLOWS FALLS, VT Helen E. Jarvis died April 11, 2009 at McGurre Nursing Home in Bellows Falls.She was born May 22, 1917 at Colerain, Vt., the daughter of the late Porter and Mary Wood Nutting.Helen grew up in Marlboro, Vt. and attended schools in Marlboro and Brattleboro.She is survived by one son, Phillip Jarvis of Chesterfield, N.H.; one son-in-law, Brian Knapp, of Arizona; two sisters, Doris Deyo of Seabrook, N.H. and Shirley Rabideau of Brattleboro; several grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her husband, Treffley "Joe" Jarvis II; a son, Treffley "Joe" Jarvis III; one daughter, Sandra Knapp; her brother, Porter Nutting; and a sister, Mary Thelma Sage.Helen worked for many years at New England Box Company in Wilmington, Vt. and Basketville in Putney, Vt. until her retirement in her early seventies.Her favorite pastime was playing bingo. She wouldn't missher bingo game for anything. She would brave a blizzard just for her bingo cards.
