The Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Helen Jane Hammon, age 89, of Lecanto, will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the Beverly Hills Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. Graveside Services for Mrs. Hammon will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 13, 2008, at the Miami Memorial Gardens, Miami, FL, with inurnment to follow. Those who wish may send memorial donations to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.HooperFuneralHome.com She was born August 17, 1919, in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Daughter of William and Mary (Davis) Hern. She died Saturday, November 29, 2008, in Lecanto. She was a homemaker and moved to Lecanto from Key Largo seven years ago. Mrs. Hammon was a former member of the Garden Club, Key Largo and the Key Largo Civic Club. Mrs. Hammon was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall G. "Buck" Hammon (2/9/2004) and 4 brothers. Survivors include three sons: Jack Hammon of Hernando, FL, Dick (Linda) Hammon and Dale (Debra) Hammon, all of Miami, FL; two sisters: Betty Smith of New Brunswick, OH and Dorothy Hurd of Chagrin Falls, OH; 10 grandchildren: Charles Hammon, Suzanne Hammon, Darren Hammon, Keith (Jen) Hammon, Kelly (Sean) McClure, Lisa Hammon, Scott Hammon, Melissa (Al) Mejia, Robin Drayman, Rod Varner; and seven great-grandchildren.
