The Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Helen Jane Hammon, age 89, of Lecanto, will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the Beverly Hills Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. Graveside Services for Mrs. Hammon will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 13, 2008, at the Miami Memorial Gardens, Miami, FL, with inurnment to follow. She died Saturday, November 29, 2008, in Lecanto. She was a homemaker and moved to Lecanto from Key Largo seven years ago. Mrs. Hammon was a former member of the Garden Club, Key Largo and the Key Largo Civic Club. Mrs. Hammon was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall G. "Buck" Hammon (2/9/2004) and 4 brothers. Survivors include three sons: Jack Hammon of Hernando, FL, Dick (Linda) Hammon and Dale (Debra) Hammon, all of Miami, FL; two sisters: Betty Smith of New Brunswick, OH and Dorothy Hurd of Chagrin Falls, OH; 10 grandchildren: Charles Hammon, Suzanne Hammon, Darren Hammon, Keith (Jen) Hammon, Kelly (Sean) McClure, Lisa Hammon, Scott Hammon, Melissa (Al) Mejia, Robin Drayman, Rod Varner; and seven great-grandchildren.
