THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Helen Hair Wilson, Pineview Dr., Thomson, Ga. entered into rest July 30, 2004 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center, Thomson. She was the beloved wife of the late Preston Y. Wilson, Sr. Mrs. Wilson was a native of Oconee County, S.C., but had lived in Thomson since 1955 coming from Anderson, S.C. She was a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church, she was retired from McDuffie Regional Medical Center as a Practical Nurse. Survivors include one son, Yates Wilson of Thomson; two daughters, Martha A. Gowan, St. Simmons, Ga., Patricia L. Newsome, Thomson, Ga.; one brother, Thomas L. Hair, Jr., Cape Coral, Fla.; one sister, Daphne Taylor, Anderson, S.C.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One son preceeded her in death, Ronald Wilson. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August, 2, 2004 at the Washington Heights Baptist Church with Revs. Reginald Blakewood and Sonny Peevy officiating. Mrs. Wilson will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers, Jamie Stewart, Chris Stewart, Bill Gowan, Justin Wilson, Doug Edwards, Nobel Drake.
