SMITH, HELEN H. Helen H. Smith died on October 15, 2005 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY at the age of 88. She was born February 20, 1917 in Warrenton, NC to the late William and Annie Young. Helen was employed many years as an industrial and domestic worker. She was formerly married to Robert Smith. She was a resident of Mount Vernon for more than 60 years. Helen was an active and long time member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, NY prior to her illness. She was predeceased by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by three special nieces, Shannon Porter, Evelyn Turner and Audrey Adams, and numerous other loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen will be remembered for her warmth, generosity of spirit, love of family and opening her home to all over the years. Visitation will be at Barney T. McClanahan Funeral Home, Thursday, October 20, 2005 from 3-5 pm and Wake from 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will take place at Macedonia Baptist Church on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 10 am. Interment Beechwoods Cemetery.
