Helen Davis, 93, widow of James Lloyd Davis, died Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Oakmont West Living Center. Born in New York, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Katherine Barrett Collins. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving are six nephews, Tom Earley of Dell Rapids, S.D., John Earley of Centreville, Va., Jim Beckenhaupt of Colorado Springs, Colo., Arthur Beckenhaupt of Malverne, N.Y., Kevin Jordan of St. Augustine, Fla., John Kirby of Ireland; one niece, Jan Kirby of Ireland; and friends, Thelma Brock and Charles and Catherine "Cat" Mitchell. She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Davis; and four sisters, Catherine Earley, Mary Kirby, Margaret "Peggy" Jordan, and Elizabeth "Liddy' Beckenhaupt. Memorials may be made to Oakmont West Living Center Activities Fund, 600 Sulphur Springs Road, Greenville, SC 29617. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at Noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens.
